BUILDING ROUTINE

New seasons provide opportunities for new routines. We encourage all to re-establish routines around health and wellness. Whether you have always wanted to try an infrared sauna or previously visited regularly, this is your sign to add it to your new wellness regimen! Everyone can find a single (if not multiple) benefit.

As we always say: where else can you detox, burn hundreds of calories, boost immune health, reduce pain + inflammation, and look/feel better in 45 minutes? Whole body health is where it’s at – here’s more.

Detoxification + Immune Health

Sweating is the body's natural and safe way to eliminate toxins. Far infrared (FIR) wavelengths amplify this process by reaching deepest into the body, where toxins are stored. The heat of the infrared breaks apart tightly packed toxins stored in our fat and tissue, breaking them apart so they can be released through sweat. By heating the body directly on a cellular level, FIR raises core body temperature and stimulates the sweat glands, resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat 7 to 10 times greater than a conventional sauna or sweating through exercise.

Because the amount of toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis has risen exponentially, it is important to prioritize detoxing. Our infrared saunas serve many clients with various health conditions such as Lyme Disease, mold toxicity, and even allergies – who find significantly reduced symptoms. By clearing out our internal ecosystems, our bodies can flush and flow more efficiently.

Further, our clients find that infrared saunas increase immune health as well. Keep in mind, sauna has been a wellness practice in countries and cultures around the world for thousands of years. There is merit to that! Infrared evolves this ancient wellness practice to a medical-grade, modern day health amenity. By consistently detoxing, we are flushing out illnesses before they can latch on. Infrared saunas are an effective, proactive tool to empower our health!

PURE TIP: We always recommend drinking water before, during and after an infrared sauna session. Add Age Quencher Hydrate Electrolyte to your water bottle to rapidly increase hydration and intake of minerals and antioxidants.

Reduced Inflammation + Pain Relief

Incredible research shows infrared saunas can reduce pain even for those dealing with chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia, migraines, and rheumatoid arthritis. This occurs by releasing your body’s natural painkillers, endorphins, which have an opioid-like effect. The MID infrared wavelength (MIR) of our full-spectrum infrared saunas targets muscles and joints to relieve inflammation causing pain.

Infrared saunas are an effective therapy to treat joint, muscle, and arthritis pain. Mid-infrared (MIR) wavelengths specifically penetrate the body’s soft tissue, where inflammation occurs. MIR helps expand blood vessels and increase circulation, so more oxygen can reach injured areas of the body, reducing inflammation and swelling while promoting cellular repair. This, in turn, alleviates pain and speeds up the healing process. We welcome a wide range of clients who incorporate infrared saunas into their recovery routine, including professional athletes and those healing from injuries. Many clients also find a winning combination by scheduling an infrared sauna before a professional therapy treatment, such as massage or chiropractic procedures, to warm up and loosen the body, arriving ripe and ready for the practitioner to get to work!

PURE TIP: While in the sauna, roll out with a muscle roller to help with tight fascia and knots in the body. This will speed up recovery and healing within the body as well.

Caloric Burn

One of our most popular infrared sauna uses is added caloric burn. Infrared is a terrific companion for weight loss goals, creating a winning combination with a healthy diet and exercise. As you sweat in a full-spectrum infrared sauna, the body loses water, toxins, and fat. Since sweating increases heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, studies have shown that an infrared sauna session can burn up to 600 calories. Regular infrared therapy has also been beneficial in reducing belly fat in just three months.

As with any practice, consistency is key. Clients who experience the most results sauna 3x a week. Some clients like to sauna just after a workout to drive home the caloric burn, while others use infrared sauna on their rest days from the gym. We offer various membership options and even an unlimited sauna program to support your wellness results.

PURE TIP: Use our Bala weights and exercise bands to workout in the sauna cabin. This will further boost your heart rate and caloric burn.

Reduced Stress

In these unprecedented times, joining the health and wellness movement to strengthen your mental health and relieve your stressors is more important than ever before. Studies show that chronic stress raises inflammation. Infrared saunas promote relaxation and give you a chance to zen out + recharge. Sauna use can restore balance to the (HPA) axis, when out of whack, is responsible for adrenal fatigue, as well as raise BDNF levels to improve depression and anxiety.

Our Solocarbon® heaters are clinically shown to lower blood pressure (aka promote relaxation) via sauna sessions three times a week. Repeated infrared treatment improves impaired blood vessel function in patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.

PURE TIP: We provide the Calm App on our sauna tablets. Listen to a guided meditation or calming music to set the relaxing mood during your next session.

Skin Health

There are multiple external benefits to infrared sauna, and the cherry on top is Skin Health. Near Infrared (NIR), the shortest wavelength, targets the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and improving its appearance. NIR therapy reduces wrinkles and scars, makes skin look radiant, firms and improves skin tone and elasticity, and has also been effective for the treatment of acne, eczema, and psoriasis. Regular use may also help reduce cellulite trapped beneath the skin.

We often hear regular sauna goers share their discovery of this unexpected benefit: clearer skin!

PURE TIP: Bare or make-up free skin is best in the sauna. Apply Skyn Under Eye Gels or one of our chilled Facial Sheet Masks during your next appointment for added hydration and anti-aging benefits. Gua Sha is also a terrific tool to lift, firm, and tone your face during your sauna session.
